CPV: A photo exhibition titled ‘Vo Nguyen Giap - general commander of Vietnam People’s Army” opened on August 22 in Hanoi with the presence of State President Truong Tan Sang.
The event has been organised by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) to commemorate the general’s 100th birthday (25/8/1911-25/8/2011) and the 66th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September, 2.

Nearly 200 photographs will highlight General Giap’s life, in which he became a talented General, a famous revolutionary and an outstanding disciple of late President Ho Chi Minh. He became one of the nation’s elite, loved by Vietnamese people and admired by international friends.
The exhibition will help people further understand and be proud of the great careers of our people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and late President Ho Chi Minh. It also portrays an honest and complete portrayal of General Vo Nguyen Giap's life through two centuries, showcasing the glorious achievements he achieved during his time as General.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, MIC Deputy Minister Do Quy Doan said that General Vo Nguyen Giap has become a symbol of the generation who were trained and educated by late President Ho Chi Minh, contributing to a glorious era of Vietnam.
The fame of the General has become synonymous with the glorious victories of the nation. Although comprehensive, the exhibition could only show a tiny aspect of the life and career of the great military General./.
