Nhan Dan - The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has ordered gas dealers not to excessively push up their retail prices following a rise in import duties.
Under the new directive, local distributors of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are required to cut costs to help stabilise prices.
The MOF increased the import duty on LPG from 0% to 5% on June 20 as world gas prices continued their downward trend.
Provincial finance departments were also asked to monitor gas dealers and ensure they abide by price stabilisation measures.
