The first Czech Gambrinus Beerfest will be held tonight and tomorrow night at 6 p.m. in Bach Dang Port, Me Linh Square in HCMC’s District 1.

The organizer expects over 1,000 guests to savor the authentic taste of Czech beer at the two-day event. This is one of the activities to launch the Gambrinus beer brand under the management of SABMiller Vietnam.

Bach Dang Port in Me Linh Square will be turned into Prague Square with other attractions like the Old Town Square, the Kinsky Castle and the Prague Astronomical Clock. Some well-known Vietnamese singers including Elvis Phuong, Thu Minh and Thuy Tien and Filipino bands will contribute performances.

There will be a huge range of food and beverages from the Czech Republic with guests having a chance to learn more about Czech culture through folk games.

Previously, there was a Prague Night on November 11 to mark the launch of Gambrinus beer brand in Saigon.

“Coming to the festival, participants not only have the chance to taste the Czech beer Gambrinus but also know more about Czech culture,” said Ha Duc Huy, director of marketing of SABMiller Vietnam.

There will be two other Gambrinus Beerfests held in Vung Tau City next Friday and Can Tho City on December 30.

Gambrinus, which was created in 1869, is one of the most popular beers in the Czech Republic. The name Gambinus originates from the legend of King Gambrinus’ strong will and courage that created a passionate beer.
