The 3rd Vietnam–Laos People’s Friendship Festival will take place in Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Tuyen Quang provinces from July 15th to 21st, as announced by the organizing panel of the festival at a press conference on July 12th held by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations and the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Organisation.
The event is one of the biggest events to welcome the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year and mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam–Laos diplomatic ties (September 5th, 1962) and the 35th anniversary of the signing of Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18th, 1977).
Accordingly, a Lao delegation from the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Organisation, led by Mr. Phankham Viphavan, Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Organisation, will come to Vietnam to take part in the Festival.
After the opening ceremony on July 16th, participants will visit Bai Dinh Pagoda in Ninh Binh Province and Tan Trao Revolutionary Relic site in Tuyen Quang Province.
During the festival, Vietnamese and Lao participants will have an opportunity to take part in various activities, such as a ceremony to pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a meeting to exchange experiences in carrying out friendship activities in each country and ceremonies to mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam–Laos diplomatic ties and the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.
The Friendship Festival is an exchange to promote the long-lasting traditional relations, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation of the two countries.
