PANO – Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Vice-President of the National Assembly, on December 9 th , presented the Friendship Medal to Mrs. Rie Vejs-Kjeldgaard, former Director of the Office of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Vietnam.

This is a noble reward of the Vietnamese Government to foreigners and international organisations who made great contributions to the cooperation and development of friendships between Vietnam and other countries.

Working in Vietnam since 2008, Ms. Vejs-Kjeldgaard set ground for building, developing and carrying out national cooperation programs between Vietnam and ILO. Since her presence in Vietnam, the cooperation relationship between the government, employers and employees developed and the relations between ILO and governmental organisations were also promoted.

Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, stressed that the Friendship Medal shows the recognition of Vietnam’s government and people of Ms. Vejs-Kjeldgaard’s contributions in particular, and to foreigners in general. She hoped that the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and ILO will develop further in the future.
