PANO - The Department of External Relations and Department of Rescue under the Defence Ministry on March 21 st briefed foreign military attaches in Vietnam of the search and rescue activities of Vietnam, especially of the Army.

Having answered all questions raised by the foreign military attaches relating to search and rescue conducted by Vietnam People’s Army, Major-General Pham Hoai Giang, head of the Department of Rescue stressed that natural disaster control, search and rescue are not only humanitarian activities, but also the duties of each nation, organisation, force and each individual.

Therefore, he hoped that during their mission in Vietnam, foreign military attaches could share experiences and views in human resources training, and in organising training courses on handling equipment in search and rescue and management and control of natural disasters.

The Head of the visiting delegation, Colonel Didier Oustric, a French military attaché, thanked the Vietnamese side for organising such an event to help with the thorough understanding of search and rescue of Vietnam and Vietnam People’s Army and the cooperation among countries in this field.
