On the same day, two officials from the Vietnamese embassy and representatives from relevant agencies worked with the Kolkata authorities to devise measures to rescue the ship and tow it to the port in Kolkata.

Bui The Anh, a representative of the ship's owner in India, said the vessel is now safe and under control and the owner and Indian authorities are doing their best to ensure the safety of the ship and crew.

He added that they need to tow the ship to Kolkata temporarily because its rudder is broken and, as soon as the weather is good, they will send it to another place for repairs.
