The Flower Festival 2012 will take place along streets in Hanoi, such as Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thai To, Le Lai, Le Thach, Ly Thai To Flower Garden and Hoan Kiem Lake, from December 30th, 2011 to January 2nd, 2012, according to Nguyen Khac Loi, Deputy-Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The Hanoi Flower Festival, “Flower Heritage”, as part of activities to promote cultural heritage in Hanoi and to respond to National Tourism Year 2012, will honour the values of cultural heritages as recognised by UNESCO.
Accordingly, such heritages as the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the stone steles in the Literature Temple, Giong Festival, Ca Tru, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An Ancient City and so on, will be introduced at the Festival.
Furthermore, there will be interesting activities, such as flower arrangement, folk games, and an exhibition on ornamental plants and so on. Especially, there will be lotus decoration at Ly Thai To Statue on January 2nd.
