Nhan Dan Online- Five hotels and resorts in Vietnam have recently been selected as some of the top vacation spots by the annual Readers’ Choice Awards sponsored by Conde Nast Traveler, one of the world’s most distinguished travel magazines.
Life Heritage Resort Hoi An, Nam Hai Resort and Evason Ana Mandara & Six Senses Spa each ranked among the top-20 in the magazine’s roll call of the Best Resorts in Asia.
In addition, the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi and the Park Hyatt Saigon each won top spots in the survey’s top 100 hotels in Asia.
While readers voted three Vietnamese resorts onto the list, they also sang the praises of five resorts in Bali and five resorts in Thailand.
“Both Bali and Thailand have tremendous reputations as resort destinations,” said John Blanco, the general manager of Nam Hai Resort, “so for Vietnam to make this kind of impression on readers of such a distinguished travel magazine is remarkable indeed.”
The Readers Choice Awards collected 25,916 responses from readers who rated resorts and hotels in five categories: food/dining, location, overall design, rooms, and service. Resorts were also rated on activities and facilities.
According to Conde Nast, only candidates receiving a set minimum number of responses were deemed eligible for an award.
None of Vietnam’s islands merited attention in the annual Readers’ Choice Awards. Bali and Phuket were among the top three island destinations in Asia, which makes Vietnam’s resort standings all the more impressive.
Vietnam’s top cities also failed to make the top-ten cut; Bangkok and Chang Mai came in first and second, while Ubud in Bali ranked fifth.
