Villagers on the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands are not only fishermen but also members of local Civil Defense Team - the Square Stars.
Ho Duong, Vice Captain of the Civil Defense Team in Song Tu Tay island commune said, "We run through possible scenarios. Protecting the island is a matter of protecting our homes."
