Five Philippine fishermen were rescued by a Vietnamese fishing vessel about 300 nautical miles off the waters of Viet Nam's central Binh Dinh Province after their boat sank.

The fishermen are expected to arrive in Binh Dinh Province sometime today or tomorrow.
Local authorities have contacted Philippine authorities to arrange for the victims to be sent back to their home country.
Chinese tourist injured as hotel lift plummets
KHANH HOA — One Chinese visitor was injured on Monday when a lift plummeted from the seventh floor of the Quang Vinh Hotel in Nha Trang City, central Khanh Hoa Province.
The lift, which was installed in 2007, is no longer under warranty and needs some repairs, according to the hotel's director.
Ten people were in the lift at the time of the incident, although the posted capacity was only eight persons.
Six injured in conflict at parking area
HA NOI — Six people were injured when a group of about 20 people armed with guns, knives and other weapons attacked a motorbike-parking site at 252 Hoang Quoc Viet Street on early Monday morning.
All of the attackers ran away and police were only able to find and confiscate some of the weapons.
An investigation is ongoing.
Substandard medicines pulled from shelves
KHANH HOA — Two substandard drugs have been suspended from distribution by Khanh Hoa Province's Health Department, said Mai Thi Thanh, deputy director of the Department.
The drugs Vitamin C 500mg produced by the Khanh Hoa Pharm Joint Stock Company, and Cefixime to be taken orally USP 100mg produced by Clesstra Healthcare Pvt Ltd were imported by the Vimedimex Pharm Joint Stock Company.

HCM CITY – Nearly 150 road work enclosures have been removed from major city roads for Tet (Lunar New Year), including busy shopping streets such as Tran Quang Khai, Hai Ba Trung and Thanh Thai.
The management boards of each project were ordered to remove or reduce the of their barriers and leave the area empty for traffic. — VNS
