Saigontourist Travel Service Company has launched two special tours for those people who wish to attend Hue Festival 2012 from April 7-15 apart from other places of interest in and outside Thua Thien-Hue Province
One tour, which starts on April 7, 9 and 14 and costs VND3,335,000 (US$158.8) each, enables guests to visit Danang, Hoi An, Ba Na and Hue within four days. The other tour, which lasts five days, starts on April 7 and costs each customer VND4,875,000, covers Danang, Hoi An, Ba Na, Hue and Thien Duong (Paradise) Cave (Quang Binh Province). Air tickets for the two tours are not included.
Taking the former tour, tourists will visit the ancient citadel in Hue, a world cultural heritage site, which served as the court of the Nguyen Dynasty with 13 kings. They will also discover the mausoleums of kings Khai Dinh, Minh Mang and Tu Duc; visit Linh Mu Pagoda, arguably the most famous pagoda of the ancient capital, and take a boat tour on the Huong (Perfume) River to enjoy the art of Hue-style singing performed live on board. In particular, during the two nights spent free in Hue during the festival, an international cultural and artistic event held every two years in Hue, tourists will be delighted to participate in street festivals, enjoy performances by local and foreign artists from five continents, as well as buy goods at the international trade fair with more than 500 booths.
From the ancient capital of Hue, tourists will go to Danang City to see the beautiful landscape of Son Tra Peninsula and Tien Sa Port, visit Linh Ung Pagoda at But Beach, the city’s biggest pagoda with the 67-meter-tall statue of Bodhisattva Guanyin, and bathe at My Khe Beach, one of the six most appealing beaches on earth. In addition, they will also visit Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains), a masterpiece of nature with mystical caverns, and see sophisticated stone artworks made by artisans at the Hoa Hai rock sculpture village. Then, they will take a cable car to visit Ba Na Mountain as well as conquer Chua Mountain where they can see the Ba Na mountain and forest area at the altitude of nearly 1,500 meters above sea level.
Leaving Danang, tourists will continue to visit the ancient town of Hoi An with constructions bearing Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese architectural styles. Places of interest in the town include Cau (Bridge) Pagoda, the Fujian Communal House and streets lighted with lanterns.
The second tour offers guests an opportunity to visit one more place of interest—Paradise Cave at Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh Province—judged as the world’s splendid and longest cave by British cave researchers; Hien Luong Bridge, a former border between two regions of Vietnam in the war time; and La Vang Cathedral.
