Japanese summer festival Natsu Matsuri will be hosted at the HCMC Youth Cultural House in HCMC’s District 1 on Sunday.

The festival will feature ten typical aspects of Vietnamese and Japanese culture such as Origami paper wrapping arts, making furin (wind chimes), Vietnamese tea-making and traditional Japanese cake making. There will also be Japanese folk games including golden fish catching; Fuku Warai; Suika Wari (hit the watermelon); a singing contest with songs in Anime and Yosakoi and Yoyo performances.

The festival highlights Japanese comic books and introduces comic books of local publishing houses, booths of Anime, manga, Japanese souvenirs and Vietnamese and Japanese foods.

Comic book lovers will have a chance to buy books with 50% discounts.

The program will be designed with a Japanese influence with Chopin lanterns, papercraft giant cats and Anime and manga artworks.

The entrance fee is VND35,000 per person for the event at 4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street.
