Nhan Dan – The Vietnam Export Import Bank (Eximbank) has pledged to contribute 11% of Mekong Aviation JSC (Air Mekong)'s charter capital to increase the amount to VND600 billion (US$28.5 million) for future development plans.
The contribution is under a strategic co-operation agreement that was signed yesterday between Eximbank and Air Mekong.
Accordingly, Eximbank will support Air Mekong in expanding its fleet to 10 planes in the future.
The bank will also invest in developing Air Mekong’s airport infrastructure and services.
After two years of operation, Air Mekong has safely flown 17,000 flights carrying around 1.2 million passengers. The airline also pioneered new routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to sea and island tourist areas as well as some localities in the Central and Central Highland region.
