(VOV) - The trust index and business prospects of the European business community in Vietnam have dropped below the average level of 50 points, according to the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham).
EuroCham: Vietnam’s business climate index increases slightly It says the business environment index also decreased by 5 points to 48 points.
Of the surveyed businesses, 38 percent have involved in industry and services, 30 percent in production and the remaining in trade and other sectors.
Those considering their current business operations as “good” dropped from 34 percent to 29 percent. Only one percent described them as excellent and 30 percent as neutral.
Those boosting their "good" or "excellent" prospects fell from 42 percent in the previous quarter to 31 percent.
When asked about their investment plans for 2012, 32 percent said they will increase their investment in Vietnam, compared to 52 percent in the same period last year. 33 percent will cut down their investment, representing a fall of 4 percent over last year.
