The Japanese Genki Festival 2012 is being held for the first time at the Sept. 23 Park in Ho Chi Minh City in response to the 40 th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan Diplomatic Relationship.

During the festival, many interesting activities will be held, such as displaying cherry blossoms, introducing Japanese cuisine, folk games and art performances with the participation of 150 Japanese craftsmen and artists.

According to Mr. Shimamura Tomomichi, Head of the organising panel, this year’s festival aims to introduce the Japanese culture to local spectators, tighten friendship between the two countries as well as thank Vietnamese people for assisting Japanese in overcoming the aftermath of the recent natural disasters.
