(VOV) - The Vietnamese embassy in Japan held an urgent meeting on March 13 to discuss measures to ensure the safety of Vietnamese people in the quake-hit country.
Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Pham Phu Binh confirmed that no Vietnamese nationals have been reported dead or injured after the recent natural disasters. He asked the embassy staff to continue searching for information about Vietnamese people in affected areas.
The Vietnamese embassy will send condolences to affected areas and asked local authorities to help Vietnamese people to deal with the difficult situation.
The Vietnam Youth and Student Association (VYSA) in Japan will send a working team to Sendai city in Miyagi Prefecture to learn more about the situations for Vietnamese students there.
The association also called on students in affected prefectures to provide further information through the VYSA website at www.vysajp.org.
