The People s Committee in the Central Highland Province of Lam Dong has just approved a new 150-bed paediatric hospital to be built in the provincial capital Da Lat.
The proposed hospital, covering 3.5ha of a pine-tree covered hill in Da Lat City s Ward 5, is estimated to cost VND143.7 billion (US$8.06 million).
Construction of the first children s hospital in the region will start in December, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.

Work soon on new Hai Phong IP
Construction of a new urban area and industrial park in Hai Phong City will start in December this year, according to the project investor Viet Nam Singapore Industrial Park Joint Stock Company.
The estimated US$1 billion project, covering 1,600ha north of Cam River in Thuy Nguyen District, comprises residential, commercial and industrial park.

Time to inspect approved steel projects
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said it would inspect the progress of approved steel production projects nationwide in the last quarter of the year.
The announcement came as only 40 localities out of the total 63 provinces and cities had reported on their approved steel projects and their construction status.
According to the ministry, local authorities have approved 32 steel projects that were not listed in the Government s steel industry development plan.

Online bidding trial approved
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has permitted Ha Noi People s Committee, the Viet Nam Post and Telecommunications Group, the Electricity of Viet Nam and other State-owned organisations, to trial online bidding for public purchase until 2011.
Electronic documents, digital signatures and bidding results via the internet would be legally recognised, Hai said.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment will co-operate with relevant agencies to provide guidelines on the trial.
