The theme of the conference, organised by the city’s Department of Education and Training, was ‘The Voice of Ho Chi Minh City’s Students’. The conference offered nearly 200 high-school students the opportunity to voice their opinions on a wide range of issues including the heavy curriculum, subjects’ contents, mostly focusing on the theories, and the relationships between teachers and students.
The conference produced some interesting results with students stressing the need for schools to equip them with life skills in addition to studying. Students also stated that connecting to teachers helps students to become more attached to their schools.
