PANO - An Australian renowned folk dance troupe named “Descendance” with artists who are Australian aboriginals will give performances, featuring the unique culture and arts of Australian aboriginals.

The dance troupe was founded in 1993 and has performed in more than 40 countries around the world.

At home, the dance troupe often performs in theatres, festivals, open-air stages and big events.

The five dancers of the troupe will give performance on the opening day of the Hue Festival 2012 on April 7 th and in some other programmes of the Festival. Then the troupe will entertain local people in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City on April 13 th and 16 th , respectively.

On the occasion, the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, Allaster Cox said that he was proud when Australia continues to participate in the Hue Festival.

Many Vietnamese have heard of the long-standing traditional culture of the Australians but few have seen them performing live so this will be a good chance for Vietnamese people to understand more about Australia and its people, he added.

He also unveiled that the Australian Embassy to Vietnam had decided to render supports for the troupe’s performance tour to Vietnam.
