Deputy PM Hai who is also Head of the Steering Committee for Construction of the National Assembly House, was accompanied by National Assembly Deputy Chairwoman and Steering Committee Deputy Head Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and members of the Committee.

According to the project’s management board, the construction of major design components is underway, with the structure and the roof of the building scheduled to be completed in late July and December this year, respectively.

At the working session, Deputy PM Hai asked the builders to complete the project on schedule while ensuring its quality, upholding labour safety standards and meeting technical requirements.

Construction of the new National Assembly House began in Hanoi’s Ba Dinh district on October 12, 2009. The building will have five floating floors covering an area of over 36,000 sq.m and two basement floors with an area of more than 26,000 sq.m. The House will accommodate a conference hall and offices for a number of National Assembly agencies and committees.
