The deputy PM spoke highly of the close coordination between the two foreign ministries in regulating bilateral cooperative relations in all fields, suggesting that both sides continue promoting their role as the permanent agencies of the Viet Nam-China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation.
The two sides need to prepare well for the visits and meetings between the two countries’ senior leaders; expand and enhance the efficiency of bilateral cooperation; support localities, particularly those in border areas, to strengthen ties in the spirit of mutual benefits; and promote negotiation mechanisms on territorial boundaries in a substantive manner in an effort to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea, Minh said.
He suggested both sides discuss the resigning of the protocol on cooperation between the two foreign ministries; maintain the exchange between leaders of the two ministries; strengthen discussion between their units on policy making, international economic collaboration, the media, local foreign affairs, service of diplomatic corps, consular affairs, citizen protection and other issues, as agreed by the two sides.
For his part, Chinese FM Wang Yi appreciated and agreed with Deputy PM Minh’s opinions on developing relations between the two countries.
The host affirmed willingness to work with the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry to prepare well for high-level visits and unceasingly accelerate the Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
