Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held a reception for Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thanh Son in Beijing on May 25 to discuss consular activities and experiences in affairs relating to citizens overseas.

Yang welcomed Son’s visit and appreciated the results of the Vietnam-China forum on economics, trade, investment and tourism cooperation, co-hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in China and the China-ASEAN centre in Beijing between May 20 and 23.
Earlier the same day, Son met with He Yafei, Deputy Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council.
On May 24, Son held talks with Vice Foreign Minister Xie Hangsheng on consular affairs.
