PANO – The Ministry of Defence held a get-together for former elite troops, commandos from the Capital Regiment, Quang Nam-Da Nang and Saigon-Gia Dinh miltary zone in three regions of Vietnam, on July 12th at the presence of Lieutenant-General Luong Cuong, Deputy-Director of the General Department of Politics.
At the ceremony, representatives of former elite soldiers from the three regions expressed their love, wishes as well as deep gratitude to the Party, State and Army.
Lieutenant–General Luong Cuong also expressed his respect and gratitude to elite troops from the Capital Regiment, Quang Nam-Da Nang and Saigon-Gia Dinh military zone for their contributions to the cause of national construction and defence.
The General stressed that over the past years, the Central Party Military Commission and Defence Ministry instructed units to actively participate in a movement to pay gratitude to those credited with the revolution. The Defence Ministry also recommended the State for issuing more policies for those credited with the revolution, created favourable conditions for search teams to find and repatriate sets of remains of martyrs, built houses of gratitude and comrade houses as well as took part in activities in overcoming natural disaster consequences, in hunger elimination and poverty reduction.
