Japanese-Vietnamese contemporary dance artist Michiyo Pham Nga will perform in Ha Noi on Sunday to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
The 23-year-old artist will perform the contemporary dance 3 Some , a piece she choreographed herself, in a show titled Let's Gather Near.
The dance work, which also features Chinese DJ Xeum, features Vietnamese folklore music and examines the desire for a free life full of happiness.
Michiyo says that if the performance is a success, she will organise a contemporary dance show in Ha Noi that combines modern dance with rock and modern pop music.
In mid 2011, Nga performed a hip-hop inspired dance piece with Vietnamese dance group Big Toe and the Thai female dancing group Pattaya in the concert Naughty Night.
Born in 1989, Nga began dancing at the age of 12 in Viet Nam, and later continued her career in Japan, where she has earned a reputation as a talented performer. She has won several important dance prizes in Asia and Europe.
Let's Gather Near will be performed at the Marquee Club, Melia Hanoi hotel, 44 Ly Thuong Kiet, Ha Noi.
