Angelet said a 2.7MW solar power project, a joint venture between Belgium’s Matrix and Danang-based Central Airport Corporation, is expected to get off the ground soon.

Danang People’s Committee vice chairman Vo Duy Khuong has recently called on Belgian businesses to invest in tourism development, hi-tech, and banking and finance.

The city has four major projects that are running short of capital, including a power plant and a number of air pollution and waste treatment stations, Khuong said.

Its major landfill- the Hoa Khanh dump- has been overloaded and is in need of a toxic cleanup by 2017, he added.
