Domestic travel firm Vitours Company Limited Wednesday announced it would offer direct charter flights between central Danang and Hong Kong next month.
Vietnam Airlines will consider open new air routes connecting Danang with Hong Kong and Japan next year
The Danang-based firm said the charter flights, to be operated by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, will serve Vietnamese tourists heading to the city and other Chinese destinations, such as Macau, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
Vitours had earlier teamed up with the carrier to launch the first charter service on the route from September 30 to October 4 to promote outbound tours to Macau, Hong Kong and Guangzhou.
Le Hong Ha, director of the central branch of Vietnam Airlines, said the carrier would conduct marketing activities at the foreign destinations to facilitate the opening of new international air routes from and to Danang International Airport.
The carrier is also planning to offer charter flights between Japan and the central city next month, according to the director.
Ha said Vietnam Airlines would consider opening new routes connecting Danang with Hong Kong and Japan next year.
Central coastal Danang City is the fourth biggest city and the third largest commercial port in Vietnam. It is aiming to become a center of industry, commerce and tourism in the central region.
