(VOV) - Dak Nong provincial agencies, ministries and branches should pay more attention to victims of Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin and their families as they were the most disadvantaged people.
50 years - too long for "Agent Orange" pain
Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan made the request during her working visit to the Central Highland province on August 18 and 19.
She highlighted the efforts of Dak Nong to improve its people’s living conditions and presented gifts to 15 AO victims and 10 outstanding poor students, each worth VND3 million, and a VND 10 million scholarship to Tay ethnic student Nong Thi Tam who had passed entrance exams for two universities despite her difficult family situation.
Vice President Doan also presented the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces to the Dak Nong Police in recognition of their efforts to maintain social security and order, and contributions to provincial socio-economic development.
