This plant is named after Le Van Huong, Bidoup National Park’s Director, who has much contributed in assisting bio-diversity research and conservation in Bidoup.
Luu Hong Truong from the Institute of Tropical Biology said that the new plant, under the tea family, which has been unknown to the world, has elliptical leaves, dark pink or red flowers.
