The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) held a colossal military parade on April 15 to mark the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of its late founder Kim Il-sung.
The Korean Central Broadcasting Station (KCBS), which covered the parade, said that tens of thousands of people gathered for the ever-largest parade in the history of the DPRK. The country’s new leader Kim Jong-un delivered a speech in his capacity as the nation’s supreme leader.
The parade was just one of a series of momentous events to follow the plenary session of The Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) on April 11, as well the launch of the satellite-carrying rocket the Kwangmeungsong 3 on April 13.
