PANO – Over the past years, the Vietnamese Central Province of Thua Thien – Hue and two Laotian Provinces, Salavan and SeKong, have launched various activities to improve their relations.
Thua Thien – Hue Province donated more than VND3.6 billion and provided around 8,000 working days to help the Laotian provinces build and upgrade their military headquarters.
In addition, the Vietnamese Province has sent groups of doctors to provide free healthcare check-ups and medicines to more than 700 people. Many presents, such as photocopiers, cameras, electric generators and computers, were given to the Laotian provinces.
Many Laotian students and cadres have received training at education institutions in Thua Thien – Hue Province.
Thua Thien – Hue Province has also worked with these Laotian provinces to ensure security in bordering areas between the two countries.
The neighboring provinces have helped Vietnam’s search teams to find and repatriate many remains of Vietnamese soldiers and specialists who sacrificed their lives in Laos. The authorities of Laotian provinces have created favourable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to operate in Laos.
Through these activities, the relations between Thua Thien – Hue and two Laotian provinces of Salavan and SeKong have been further improved.
