A "coastal villages festival" began Sunday in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan Province to promote the sea tourism industry, Nguoi Lao Dong reported.
The festival, part of the National Year of Coastal Tourism in the South-Central Regions program, gathers the performance troupes from Quang Nam, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and HCMC.
Performances will inlude folk dancing, singing and boat racing, each specific to a different region.
Some 500 historical documents will also be on display, including those proving Vietnamese sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel Islands) and Truong Sa archipelagos.
