HCMC – The HCMC government has approved a detailed zoning map for the Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP)’s second phase in District 9 on about 587 hectares.

The second phase will be developed in Tang Nhon Phu A, Tang Nhon Phu B and Long Thanh My wards of the district.

The park will include a supporting industry area, a hi-tech manufacturing area, a research, development and training area, a business incubator area, a logistics area, a service area and a green park.

enerally, the park will be developed with low-construction density. The first phase of the park in District 9, with more than 300 hectares, has attracted over US$1.7 billion in registered capital from local and foreign investors since opening seven years ago, according to the park’s authority.

Around 300 of the park’s 913 hectares is occupied by 38 projects in IT, science and technology. The prominent investors include Intel, Japan’s Nidec, Denmark’s Sonion, Allied Technologies of Singapore, Jabil, Datalogic, FPT and EVN Tel.

There are 13 operational projects at the moment, employing 8,000 workers and accounting for export revenue of US$318 million, and another 13 are under construction.
