This was announced at a press briefing to launch the programme, co-organised by the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation and the National Hospital of Paediatrics.
Italian doctor Roberto De Castro and American Vietnamese Tue Dinh will perform the surgeries with support from the hospital and its staff.
During their two week visit, the doctors will also conduct initial check-ups for 80 children and re-examine 17 others who underwent operations last year.
In 2011, Dr De Castro, who is one of the world’s leading experts in genital reconstruction, examined and provided treatment and counseling to 120 Vietnamese children with genital deformities.
After the surgeries, a fundraising musical night to share stories and spread the programme’s humanitarian message will be held at the Ho Chi Minh City Military Theatre on June 23.
