HCMC – Passenger vehicles with nine seats or above and trucks of over one ton will be banned from crossing the Saigon Bridge from next Monday to December 10 to ensure safety for the bridge repair.

Fencing will be set up partially on the bridge surface, but the prohibited vehicles should choose other routes.

To avoid crossing the Saigon Bridge, motorists are advised to travel from Hanoi Highway to the East-West Highway. From there, they can either go through Thu Thiem Tunnel to National Highway 1 or cross Thu Thiem Bridge to Nguyen Huu Canh Street.

The other way is to travel through Interprovincial Road 25B, and cross Phu My Bridge to Nguyen Van Linh Street and vice versa.

On May 12, Urban Traffic Management Zone No. 2 under the transport department started repair of the Saigon Bridge, which will be completed in mid-December this year.
