The Algerian Embassy in Vietnam held a ceremony on July 5 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their country’s Independence Day.
On addressing the event, Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam Cherif Chikhi gave a review of the country’s history. He said the country is speeding up its democratic process as well as carrying out a series of important socio-economic development programmes.
The event is especially meaningful as both countries will soon celebrate their 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties, marking a new period of friendship and co-operation between both countries.
Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tran Nam, said he was delighted at the development of Vietnamese-Algerian relations. He added that with the well-established tradition between both countries, friendship and co-operation between Vietnam and Algeria will flourish, for peace and in the interests of both nations.
