The Central Office for South Vietnam was established in 1961 and completed its mission in 1975. It was founded as an agency to consult for and assist the South Vietnam Central Committee during the Anti-US Resistance War.
Addressing the ceremony, Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, Le Hong Anh, praised the wartime achievements of the Central Office for South Vietnam, saying that it had successfully completed all its assigned tasks from its establishment in 1961 until 1975.
The Office provided accurate information and advice to the South Vietnam Central Committee to cover the revolution’s movements in the South.
In current context, the Office of the Party Central Committee and Party Committee Offices at all levels must renew their operations, boost administrative reforms and enhance the quality of their consultancy to meet the current political tasks assigned by the Party, said Politburo member Anh.
On the occasion, the Central Office for South Vietnam was honoured with the Hero of the People’s Armed Forces award for its contributions to the nation during the resistance war.
Former Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu and Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court Truong Hoa Binh attended the ceremony, along with other senior officials.
