Cavifoods inaugurates rice processing plant in Cambodia

Cambodia-Vietnam Foods Company inaugurated the first line of a rice processing plant with capacity to polish 100,000 tonnes per year on March 30 in Cambodia.
The Cambodia-Vietnam Foods Company (Cavifoods), a joint venture of the Cambodian Development and Investment Joint Stock Company, the Southern Food Corporation and the Green Trade Company, has invested US$6.8 million in the plant, which will mainly process rice for export.
The first processing line of the plant is capable of polishing 20,000 tonnes of rice per year and stock 20,000 tonnes, while the second line is still underway and expected to kick off trial operations by May 2012.
