The 16th Cargill Cares charity festival was held at the Suoi Tien cultural site in Ho Chi Minh City on July 30, attracting 4,500 visitors.

During this year’s annual event, held by Cargill Vietnam Co. Ltd since 1996, there are art performances, traditional games, and an auction of agricultural products to raise funds for charitable activities.

More than VND7 billion was raised for the charitable foundation, including VND3.1 billion donated at the festival and VND4 billion from Cargill Vietnam Co. Ltd and Cargill Inc., headquartered in the US.

After 15 years of operation in Vietnam, the Cargill Cares charity fund has raised over VND48 billion. All the money is used to support flood victims, provide scholarships for poor students, assist students in mountain areas, help orphans and build experimental centres in universities.

So far, the fund has also built 45 schools in remote areas across the country.
