(VOV) - Simple Plan, a French-Canadian pop punk band from Montreal, Canada, will give their first performance in Vietnam in May to raise public awareness of combating human trafficking.
The five-member band will take centre stage at a live MTV EXIT concert at Hanoi’s My Dinh National Stadium on May 26, according to the official website of MTV EXIT, the organiser of the event.
This is the first time Simple Plan will perform in Vietnam after enthralling fans in Japan, China and Singapore.
The band is currently on a sold-out European tour, and has gained worldwide recognition, selling more than 7 million albums globally.
According to percussionist Chuck Comeau, human trafficking is a horrible crime with devastating consequences for many young people and their families.
“We are proud to stand together with MTV EXIT and their partners in the fight against exploitation. We can’t wait to play in Vietnam for the first time and are looking forward to informing our fans on how they can get involved and help out,” said Comeau.
