Buddhist festival opens in Da Nang

VGP – Quan Thế Âm (Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva) festival took place in the central province of Đà Nẵng from March 9-11 to offer prayers of peace for the nation.

The festival, one of the 15 largest festive events in Việt Nam drew the participation of thousands of Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns, followers and tourists.

The event is held annually at the Quan Thế Âm pagoda in the Ngũ Hành Sơntourist site between the 17th to the 19th of the second lunar month.

On the occasion, a ritual to pray for peace for the country and prosperity, good health and happiness for people was held. Over 30 paintings and sculpture works were on display./.
