Thuong was third in the men’s bodybuilding 65kg and Viet Nam’s only representative in the category. The top two medals in this event went to Iran’s Mirnoorollahi and India’s Chadrajit Bora Assam.

VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese bodybuilder Le Hoai Thuong took a bronze medal at the Multi Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships in Pattaya, Thailand on August 13.

In the 75kg category, Ahmad Essa Matar of United Arab Emirates won gold. Kitisak Wuthikam grabbed the first gold for the hosts Thailand in the over 75kg weight class.

Thursday also saw matches in the master bodybuilding disciplines in three age groups including 41-49, 50-55, and over 55. The hosts won another gold at the over 55 event.

Thuong’s success on the first day of competition set the bar high for other Vietnamese athletes in the following days of the competition.

Viet Nam sent a 16-member body building team to compete at the biggest body building and fitness competition in the world.

The 9th Southeast Asian Bodybuilding Championships, originally scheduled for mid-October, has been combined with the Asian Championships to form the Multi Asian Championships.

More than 300 bodybuilders from 32 countries are taking part in the one-week event in 38 categories.

Viet Nam won three golds, two silvers, and one bronze medal at the Asian Championships last year.
