-- Huge crowds of people have flocked to a land in Hoa Tho Dong Ward, Cam Le District in the central city of Da Nang to seach for gold following a rumor that a scrap-iron hunter picked up a jar containing 10 kilos of gold there on April 10. Phung Van Thanh, deputy chairman of People’s Committee of Hoa Thoa Dong Ward, confirmed that the rumor is true.

-- An elder man in Thuy Thanh commune, Huong Thuy district in Thua Thien Hue central province has returned an Apple laptop worth VND70 million ($3,500) to Francois Serre Lisa from France, who left it at Thanh Toan Tile-Roofed Bridge on April 10 during Hue festival.

-- The five-meter fish which was caught by a fisherman in the central province of Quang Tri last week, is a whale shark (Rhincodon typus), says an scientist at the national Institute of Oceanography.
