The Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations, Nguyen Van Kien, has presented Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam Joao Mendoca Lima Neto with an insignia for peace and friendship among peoples.



At the event in Hanoi on December 14, Vice President Nguyen Van Kien spoke highly of the diplomat’s great contributions to tightening cooperative ties between Vietnam and Brazil.

During his term office in Vietnam, two-way trade turnover between the two countries rose from US$557 million in 2008 to US$1 billion in 2011, Kien said.

With his assistance, Vietnam enjoyed constant support from the Brazilian Government at multilateral forums, Kien added.

Ambassador Joao Mendoca Lima Neto expressed sincere thanks to the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations and confirmed that in whatever position, he will try his best to help strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil.
