This is Keating’s second trip to Vietnam, after he came here for the first time in September to promote a watch brandname. Since Keating started his solo career in 1999, he has made seven albums. The heartthrob singer gained worldwide attention when his single “When You Say Nothing at All” on the Notting Hill soundtrack went to number one on the charts. His latest album called “Songs for My Mother” was released in 2009.
According to the Miss Earth organizing committee, Oliver Pettigrew, host of the Sony Style program on AXN channel in Asia, will be the MC of the event.
So far, 70 of the 90 Miss Earth entrants have arrived in HCMC. Miss India, Nicole Faria, 20, won the title for Miss Talent for her belly dance performance in the first challenge in HCMC on Tuesday. The beauties face four more challenges - national costume contest (November 13 in Phan Thiet City), ao dai (Vietnamese long dress) and evening gown contests (November 17 in Nha Trang City) and bikini contest (November 20 in Phu Yen Province).
