Vietnamese bodybuilders could only win three silver medals at the 2010 Asian Beach Games held in Muscat, Oman from December 8-16.

Pham Van Mach, who won the men’s 55kg category title at the 2010 World Bodybuilding Championships in India in October, competed in the under-60 kg event and won a silver.

In the men’s under-65kg category, Nguyen Van Lam was dethroned and had to settle for silver behind Thai rival Somkit.

Nguyen Truong Giang was right behind Lam, winning the bronze at the same event.

In the men’s under-70 kg contest, Nguyen Hai Au also finished second behind Malaysia’s Sazali Samad.

The goal of winning a gold medal is very hard now. There is only one more event to go and Nguyen Van Tuan will compete in the men’s under 75-kg competition, but there are much bigger names in the fray.
