Entitled ‘Red Drops of Blood’, the campaign, which will last until September 2, is expected to have more than 270,000 donors giving 193,000 units of blood in order to resolve blood shortages during this summer .
The campaign was launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Society on the occasion of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day (May 8).
A total of 675,438 units of blood were collected from donors across the country in 2010, which met 39% of the demand for emergencies and other treatments.
