HCMC - Big C supermarket chain has received approval from the HCMC authorities to join the city’s price stabilization program with a number of essential goods available on the shelves.

From the end of last month, all Big C stores in the city officially joined the program which finishes on March 31 as a supplier and distributor.

Those commodities joining the program include fish sauce, cooking oil, rice, processed food, Wow-labeled notebooks and fresh pork products provided by San Miguel, CP and Anh Thy suppliers.

A representative of Big C said the prices of these products remained stable for a long time at Big C stores citywide like Big C Hoang Van Thu in Tan Binh District, Big C Go Vap in Go Vap District, Big C An Lac in Binh Tan District, Big C Phu Thanh in Tan Phu District and Big C Mien Dong in District 10.

After this year’s price stabilization program kicked off in early April in HCMC, the city’s Department of Industry and Trade received the registration from the French-invested supermarket for the program. Then, local relevant agencies surveyed the business and production process of Big C and submitted the results to the municipal government for a final decision.
