HCMC – The heavily-indebted Binh An Seafood Joint Stock Co. (Bianfishco) will resume operation of its tra fish processing line on Wednesday after having capital injected by three banks, the company’s general director said.

Tran Van Tri said that the firm would restart the processing line with an initial output of 100-150 tons of tra fish fillets per day. The resumed operation is made possible owing to financial support from An Binh Bank, Vietnam Bank for Rural and Agricultural Development and Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, he said.

With the operation of this line, the firm will provide jobs for around 1,500 workers, he added. There were 800 workers of Bianfishco registering to be back to work until Monday.

Bianfishco last week also took back 150 workers to process salmon for a Japanese partner with a daily capacity of three tons under a contract worth US$40 million for the year 2012.

The firm still owes fish farmers and banks around VND200 billion and VND800 billion respectively after selling its assets to pay debts last month.
