Bac Giang holds National Team Badminton Champs

77 players arrived for the National Team Badminton Championships- Proace Cup in the northern Bac Giang province from September 5-9.
The 13 teams came from the Military, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Dong Nai, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Quang Tri, Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh, Son La, Vinh Phuc.
In the men’s event, 8 teams are divided into 2 groups and play in round robin to choose 4 best teams for the semi-finals. The same rule is applied for women’s event with 7 teams.
On the sideline of the championships, Hoang Tuan Anh, Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism, presented certificates of merit to top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh from Ho Chi Minh City for his active contribution in the ministry’s emulation campaign in the 2006-2010 period, Nguyen Hoang Hai from the Military team for his bronze medal in the men’s singles event in the 25th Seagames in Laos 2009, and Vu Thi Trang from Bac Giang for her bronze medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in August.
